About BlueSkies
Who are we? Testimonials BlueSkies Fitness Ltd.
With over 20 years experience in health, fitness & sport, we have seen many people struggle to stick to their resolutions to be healthier and fitter. We believe that the main reasons for this is that, to achieve their goals, people think that they have to remove themselves from their everyday lives - we want to change this!
Our aim is to show everyone who becomes involved with BlueSkies that you don't need to 'become someone else' to be fit and healthy! We will prove that you can adapt your current lifestyle, eating habits and activities to allow you to reach your goals, whatever they may be.
BlueSkies believe in living life outside of the box!

Having left Loughborough University with a B.Sc. & M.Sc. Sports Science, Sam began her career as an applied sports scientist in Cardiff working with elite athletes at the Sports Council for Wales.
Continuing in the practical side of sports science, Sam moved to work at the Lilleshall Sports Injury and Human Performance Centre in the role of Senior Sports Physiologist. Here, she spent 5 years providing and managing the physiology & nutrition support programmes for the centre’s clients - these included Premiership and National List football referees, FIFA referees, British Gymnastics, the Auto-Cycling Union, English Ice Hockey, British Wheelchair Racing and Castrol Honda.
Sam then moved from working with elite athletes into the Health, Fitness and Leisure industry becoming the Company Sports Scientist for Leisure Connection, a leading UK leisure management company. Sam was responsible for developing innovative, science-based programmes and products for the company which were implemented in Leisure Connection’s leisure centres. Sam developed a wide range of products and programmes for Leisure Connection including:
- a Health Screening programme

- HELP – a community, web-based, Sport-England funded, diet and lifestyle programme
- Harpers Personal Training model for freelance personal trainers

Sam began developing the BlueSkies website alongside her freelance health screening & sports science consultancy work in February 2007. This became her main business when BlueSkies became ‘live’ in June 2007 with the launch of this website. In October 2007, Ben joined Sam full-time and BlueSkies became the partnership it is now.
Sam currently enjoys running regularly and improving her 10K time. Exercise has always played an important role in her life and in the past she competed at county level in gymnastics, netball and badminton, and represented Loughborough University in netball.

After graduating, Ben worked as a fitness consultant at a small, independent club in Somerset, gaining his ACSM qualifications and experience of personal training before moving to London and working at the exclusive Hogarth Health Club. Here he progressed from being a Gymnasium Physiologist to the role of Health & Fitness Manager in addition to building and running a successful personal training business.

Ben has a ‘practice what you preach’ attitude and follows a regular training programme - currently a mix of running, cycling and weight training. In the past, Ben has participated in many sports, including bodybuilding, distance running, kayaking & kickboxing, and changed his body weight between 95Kg and 65Kg depending on what he was training for at the time.
Whatever sport or challenge you are involved in, Ben believes the key thing is making it fun to meet your goals.
